Applied Behavioral (ABA) Analysis Program

We hire only enthusiastic, energetic, and patient staff who are trained to work with special needs children. We are open from 9AM to 7PM for greater scheduling convenience, and we are also open on some Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00PM.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

ABA, in its simplest terms, is the study and modification of behavior. It is a one-on-one therapy that involves the process of applying behavior modification in order to reduce behavior and improve the learning environment. It is the power of reinforcement what allows therapists to modify a behavior and  teach new skills. ABA, in a structured environment, helps children acquire skills that typical children learn naturally. It is the most researched and supported therapy for helping children with special needs improve. Applied Behavior Analysis is the only scientifically proven way to treat children with autism and other special needs, and it is easy to understand because it uses simple rules and procedures.

Our Learning Center

Our center offers one-on-one intense ABA. We work with kids whose age ranges from 2-16 years old. We have a four phase program that prepares a child to enter mainstream or special needs schools. The ultimate goal of our four phase program is to teach the child to naturally learn from their environment.

For younger kids, our goal is to improve communication, social interactions, and teach basic skills. Some of the things we will work on are:

  • Sound pairing, sign language, or PECS (depending on the child's needs and abilities) to increase communication
  • Fine/Gross Motor skills
  • Early social skills development- working on things such as: waiting their turn, raising hand to be called on, following multi-step directions, and interacting with peers
  • Self-Help Skills- Potty training, appropriate eating skills, getting dressed

For older kids, our goal is to create independence, improve social skills, and teach them how to entertain themselves doing multiple tasks. Some of the things we will work on are:

  • Vocational Training and Choice Making
  • Regulating Emotions
  • Multiple Step Activities- Making a sandwich, doing laundry, cleaning their room
  • Audio/Reading Comprehension
  • Computer Skills
  • Visual Schedules

ABA Services:

  • Individualized Data Programming: Each child has his/her own individual data program that is specific to the child's needs and areas of improvement.
  • Language/Communication Improvement: We expand language and communication skills through natural environment training and incidental learning.
  • Behavior Intervention Plan: Behavior intervention can be the most rewarding and most challenging part of a program. In order to have a successful behavior intervention, it takes full cooperation from parents and staff. Behavior does not change overnight, but can be modified given the right instruction and reinforcement.

Our 4-Phase Program:

We have developed a 4-Phase Program that helps us to streamline the way we do data programming. All children who come to our Learning Center will be thoroughly assessed and then placed into the Phase which they belong, moving up through the phases as their skill level increases. Our main goal is that by the end of the fourth Phase, a child will be ready and able to enter a school setting.

  • A more efficient data programming system means less wait time for your child to gain new targets
  • The Phases are arranged so that the more easily acquired skills come first, and move toward more challenging tasks
  • We have incorporated the best elements of various assessments and developmental charts, but also left room for each kid's individual growth
